Location

  • We are located across the hall from the attendance and counselors' offices

  • We are also located next to the Career Center

  • The offices for the speech pathologist and community lab

 

Library Guidelines

  • Food o.k. during lunches. Drinks with a lid are o.k.

  • Maintain an "Academic Atmosphere"

  • Bring a pass signed by your teacher to use the library during class

    • Sign in at the check-out counter

Checking Out Items from the Library

  • Students may access our library catalog by:

    • going to the school website

    • highlighting the link resources and then selecting library

    • click on the link, Destiny Catalog from the menu of links on the right side of the library webpage

  • A student's ID number serves as their library card number.

  • Students may check out 3 items at a time.

  • Items may be kepts for 28 days before they need to be returned or renewed.

  • Student may also check out audiobooks from our NetLibrary. Click here to find out how to check out and download and audiobook.

 

 

Printing and Making Copies in the Library

  • We have two printers in the library on either side of the library. When printing, please choose RIV340A or RIV340B.

  • Items printed from a laptop in the library will print to our third printer on the laptop cart.

  • Students may print items at no charge.

  • There is also no charge to make copies using our copy machine. Please ask for assistance.

Organization of Materials

Items in the library are organized by the Dewey Decimal System. Each book is assigned a call number (acts like the book's address)

  • REF = Reference Books 9these cannot be checked out, but we will gladly make copies of whatever you need.
  • FIC = Fiction Books are imagined stories organized by the author's last name.
  • 92 = Biographies and are organized by who the book is about.
  • NON-FICTION are assigned a Dewey Decimal number and are organized by subject/topic.
  • Our periodicals (magazines and newspapers) can be found in our varous databases:
    • SIRS, Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, Infotrac, Global Issues in Context, Proquest, & eLibrary
